Restaurant Review: 'Olive' -Tel Aviv

Last night we were in TLV getting ready to go out for a friends birthday party at Lima Lima - and needed to grab a bite - something close (because i was in heels which after 5 mins were tearing my ankles to shreds) and not too heavy as there was drinking to be done. We stumbled upon a quaint cafe on Bugershov street called 'Olive' which we had heard about in passing from a friend. We ended up ordering a Chicken Caeser Salad (which is not as common place in Israel as it is in North America) and a Goat Cheese, olive tapenade, roasted red pepper and tomato sandwich on white bread. The service was about the most delicious thing there - as the caeser dressing pretty much consisted of mayonnaise and more mayonnaise and the lettuce was shredded - as prepared for a rabbit/barn animal feeding. Lastly, the chicken was simple, unobjectionable, fine. Overall we gave it a 6/10. And the sandwich - well - the goat cheese was more like cream cheese oozing from the bun - a mozzarella de buffalo would have been much more suitable - and the tastiest element in there was the tapenade. blech - pretty unenjoyable and realistically its not that hard to make a tasty sandwich - come on people. So a nice 5/10 sums it up. I ordered a cafe latte at the end and that would be the only thing I would go back there for - that and to see the fat marmalade cat that was patrolling the joint. Oh and we enjoyed the atmosphere while relaxing to Usher's 'I wanna make love in this club' track.
אז אתמול היינו בתל אביב ביומהולדת של חברה....בגלל שאליזבת היו נעליים מזוויעות והרגו לה את הנעליים רצינו לאכול במקום קרוב. נכנסו לקפה "אוליב"בבוגרשוב, מקום ששמענו עליו מחברים. הזמנו סלט קיסר-למי שלא יודע זה סלט עם חסה,קרוטונים,עוף,עגבניות שרי,רוטב מיונזי כלשהו וכריך לחם לבן עם פלפל אדום קלוי,טפאנד זיתים וגבינת עיזים...אפשר להגיד שהדבר הכי טוב במקום היה השירות- הסלט היה מורכב במחסה חתוכה בצורה של אוכל לארנבים, הרוטב מיונז במיטבו והעוף- עוף מטוגן ויבש. לסיכום ציון 6 מ10. לגבי הסנדוויץ- גבינת העיזים הייתה סוג של נוזל לבן מטפטפף מהסנדויץ שיכל שהיה צריך להיות מוחלף במוצרלה...הדבר הטוב היחיד בסנדויץ היה הטפאנד שהיה טעים אך בכמות לא מספקת. לסיכום ציון
של 5 מ10. הדבר היחיד שאולי היינו חוזרים בשבילו היה הקפה הפוך של אליזבת שהיה טעים והחתול הכתום שסייר בכיף במסעדה והרגיש ממש בבית...
